Avtar Kaur Namdhari is one of the leading disciples of the legendary Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty Ji. Her dynamic style and bold voice texture, impart the rich heritage of Patiala gayaki. Being a student of India’s finest institute of Indian classical music, “Shrutinandan” and an Ex scholar of ITC SRA, she groomed herself more than an artist.
Carrying on the legacy of Patiala Gharana, she performed in many prestigious music festivals around India, like Satguru Jagjit Sangeet Sammelan, Sri Bhaini Sahib, Sri Baba Harivallabh sangeet sammelan, Jalandhar, Pt Kishan Maharaj Samriti Sangeet sammelan, Banaras and many others.
She got the opportunity to perform with Ustad Sukhvinder Singh Ji Pinky, Ustad Mehmood Dhaul- puri, Pt. Ajoy Joglekar Ji, Smt. Paromita Mukherjee and many others. She was honored with “Yuva puraskar” in the year 2018 by Paras Kala Manch, Jalandhar.
Early age
At the tender age of 4, she started learning music from her father Dr. Ajmer Singh Namdhari. Later, she pursued her training under the guidance of Prof. Kirpal Singh Ji (Talwandi Gharana) for about 10 years meanwhile she also learned Sitar vadan for about 5 years from Late Pt. Varinder Kumar ji (Disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan) and took guidance from Taal mani Ustad Pt. Ramakant ji.
